Edinburgh Business Stories began as a brand-new podcast co-founded by YouMore’s Alex Richards and ActionCOACH Alan Smith. The idea was simple but powerful: shine a spotlight on successful Edinburgh businesses and share the people and stories behind them.

From the very start, the goal was to create something consistent, engaging, and scalable. Together, we shaped a podcast format that combined in-depth conversations with professional production and a strong supporting content strategy to build reach across multiple platforms.

Since launch, we’ve produced over 70 episodes - each supported by four social media snippets designed to extend the conversation online. Episodes are released every second week, while clips are shared across TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook to keep the audience engaged between launches.

The results have been significant: the podcast has grown an audience of over 900 subscribers on YouTube, built a strong email community, and achieved more than 30,000 likes on TikTok.

Beyond the digital space, Edinburgh Business Stories has expanded into live events, including the EBS Awards and Alumni Dinners, and even created a dedicated website and episode booklets. Each episode now has a sponsor, and the brand is already growing into new territory with the launch of Glasgow Business Stories.

What began as a fresh idea is now a thriving multimedia platform, bringing together community, conversation, and recognition for Scotland’s business leaders.
